Ricoh SC541 error code

Fuser thermistor fault

Ricoh SC541 usually indicates an invalid signal from the fuser’s temperature sensor (thermistor): the sensor reports an open circuit or a value outside its range. This code stops the printer and relates to the fuser assembly.

What does this error mean?

Thermistors monitor the fuser temperature. If a sensor signal is missing or invalid, the printer cannot safely control the heating and therefore stops. SC541 belongs to the SC54x family of fuser faults.

What can you safely try?

  1. 01Switch the printer off at the main power switch, wait at least 10 minutes for the fuser to cool down, then switch it back on. Many error codes are temporary and disappear after a full power cycle.

When should you call a technician?

If the code returns, call a technician: checking the thermistor and fuser assembly is a job for a qualified technician.

Do you rent out or manage printers?

If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
