Toshiba C440 error code
Fuser temperature outside the control range
Toshiba C440 usually means that the fuser roller temperature has moved outside its control range: it does not reach the range or exceeds it. This code stops the printer.
What does this error mean?
On Toshiba e-STUDIO printers, the C4xx code family relates to the fuser. The heating unit, thermistor or a poor connection may be responsible. On Toshiba printers, fuser error codes remain stored after the fault has been resolved and must be cleared by a technician.
What can you safely try?
- 01Switch the printer off at the main power switch, wait at least 10 minutes for the fuser to cool down, then switch it back on. Many error codes are temporary and disappear after a full power cycle.
When should you call a technician?
Call a technician: checking the fuser assembly and clearing the code requires a qualified technician.
Do you rent out or manage printers?
If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
