Canon E000 error code
Fuser warm-up fault at startup
Canon E000 usually means that the fuser temperature is not rising at the expected rate after the printer is switched on. The most common causes are the heating unit, thermistor or a poor connection.
What does this error mean?
The E000-E003 code family covers fuser temperature faults on Canon imageRUNNER printers. On many Canon printers, these codes remain stored in memory: they must be cleared in service mode after the fault has been resolved.
What can you safely try?
- 01Switch the printer off at the main power switch, wait at least 10 minutes for the fuser to cool down, then switch it back on. Many error codes are temporary and disappear after a full power cycle.
When should you call a technician?
If the code remains after switching the printer off and on, call a technician. Clearing fuser faults on Canon printers typically also requires service mode, so a technician is almost always needed.
Do you rent out or manage printers?
If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
