Kyocera C4000 error code
Laser unit (polygon motor) fault
Kyocera C4000 usually indicates a startup fault in the laser imaging unit: the polygon motor does not reach or maintain the required speed. This code stops the printer.
What does this error mean?
The laser unit uses a fast-spinning mirror motor (polygon motor) to sweep the laser beam. If the motor feedback is invalid, the printer cannot print and stops with this code.
What can you safely try?
- 01Switch the printer off at the main power switch, wait at least 10 minutes for the fuser to cool down, then switch it back on. Many error codes are temporary and disappear after a full power cycle.
When should you call a technician?
If the code recurs, call a technician: checking and replacing the laser unit is a job for a qualified technician.
Do you rent out or manage printers?
If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
