Kyocera C6000 error code

Fuser warm-up fault

Kyocera C6000 usually means that the fuser is not heating up at the expected rate: its temperature does not reach the target within the allotted time. The most common causes are the heating lamp, thermistor or an unstable power supply.

What does this error mean?

The Kyocera C6xxx code family relates to the fuser. C6000 indicates a failure to heat up, which can also be caused by a broken heating element, a poor connection or low mains voltage, for example when the printer is connected through an extension lead or power strip.

What can you safely try?

  1. 01Switch the printer off at the main power switch, wait at least 10 minutes for the fuser to cool down, then switch it back on. Many error codes are temporary and disappear after a full power cycle.
  2. 02If the printer is connected through an extension lead or power strip, try plugging it directly into a wall socket: an inadequate power supply can also trigger this fault.

When should you call a technician?

If the code returns after switching the printer off and on, call a technician. Replacing the heating unit or thermistor requires a qualified technician.

Do you rent out or manage printers?

If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
